(1958) The Bobcat product Line includes skid steer loaders, compact truck loaders, excavators up to 38,000 pounds, utility vehicles, versa handler tool carriers/forklifts, articulating loaders, wheel loaders, and over 100 attachments for loaders and excavators.

The successful candidate will be representing many other major manufacturers of construction equipment in addition to Bobcat including Blue Diamond attachments, Soosan Machinery, Cronkhite and Felling Equipment Trailers, Carlton Stump Grinders and Woodchippers, F.A.E. Forestry Mulchers.

The Bobcat of Knoxville Sales Team works by territory or assigned accounts. Routine duties include sales of equipment and services to business customers by direct contact at the customer’s location or on the worksite and by direct telephone calls, email, and text communications, utilizing detailed knowledge of the merchandise, emphasizes any special promotions developed by the management, manufactures, or financial institutions.

Job title: Outside Sales Representative/Territory Manager

Reports to: Sales/Branch Manager

Job Summary: Sells new and used equipment and rentals as conducted in the normal course of business of Bobcat of Knoxville/Chattanooga.

Job Content:

Routine Duties:

  1. Sells equipment and services to business customers by direct contact at the customer's location or on the worksite premises and by direct telephone calls or electronic mail communications, utilizing detailed knowledge of the merchandise, emphasizes any special promotions developed by the management, the manufacturers, or the financial institutions.
  2. Ascertain the make, type, and quality of merchandise desired by customers.
  3. Quotes price of merchandise and files a written copy of quotes daily.
  4. Presents all appropriate financing options available for quoted merchandise.
  5. Refers all orders and credit applications to sales coordinator for processing with all details completed.
  6. Follow up on all sales leads in the assigned territory in a prompt manner and document the customer’s response.
  7. Make cold calls on potential customers at jobsites and offices and ask if they require certain product or service offered by Bobcat of Knoxville/Chattanooga.
  8. Handle incoming sales calls while in the office and respond to any phone messages that have been forwarded in a prompt manner.
  9. Keep updated records of their territory customer base on computer program while generating new accounts on a frequent basis.
  10. Turn in call reports for the past week’s activity to the manager each Monday morning.
  11. Turn in an itinerary for the upcoming week each Monday morning to the manager with a minimum of 10 potential customer calls per day.
  12. Maintain market share percentage, by product, as established by the manager.
  13. Work toward, meet, or exceed a specific financial goal or quota established by the manager for their territory.
  14. Complete and pass all required courses on Bobcat University.
  15. Follow all written procedures when requesting a trade in report, an equipment demonstration, or an equipment demonstration, or an equipment delivery.

Periodic Duties:

  1. Assist in inventory counts as needed
  2. Assist with trade shows involving the company’s products
  3. Attend training schools for product knowledge, financial merchandising, and selling skills
  4. Attend sales meetings and monthly review
